Teacher/Student Identity
In class we were asked to create a named tag for ourselves. On the name tag we needed our name, and three pictures. The pictures had to represent how we see ourselves as a student, becoming to be a teacher and as a future teacher.
For the picture of how I see myself as a student I drew notebooks, textbooks and a planner. I choose these three things because as a student I am always busy with school work, whether it is reading, homework, class or taking notes, I always have something to do.
For the second part on becoming a teacher I drew a picture of a confused/worried face then arrows pointing to a happy/excited face. I did this because while in school and learning to be a teacher I sometimes feel worried that I am not ready to be a teacher or that I will never be prepared or ready. The other face a drew showed me looking happy or excited, because that is how I start feel when I learn something new or finish a semester. I feel like I am more prepared and ready to teach!
The third picture I drew was how I envision my future classroom or teaching. I drew a to students that have lightbulbs, and explanation points coming from their heads, this shows that the students are excited and have learned something new! I hope this will happen to many of my students. I want them to learn new things and be excited about it.
Application
This could be used in the beginning of a new year or new semester for students to draw where they feel like they are now as students, what they hope to learn this new year/semester and how they think they will feel after the new year/semester. This could give students freedom and creativity.
Materials
The materials need would be paper, markers, crayons, pencils, pens or anything else a student would need to design their name tag.
