Humans of Mizzou
“My dream classroom looks bright, creative and safe for each and every student. I want each of my students to leave my class feeling brighter, using their creativity, and know they have a place to call home and feel loved in. I believe that in order to get the best out of learning and teaching it comes from the heart and you must give and love with everything you got! I want each of my students to want to come back, and love being here while learning and growing each and every day. I wish to make this impact in my future classroom!”
For this studio were looked at and discussed "The Humans of New York" Facebook page. For this we looked out the pictures the artist took and how the picture told a story without always showing the face of the person being interviewed. For our assignment we had to do our own Humans Page. We had to do the Humans of Mizzou. We were asked to interview a College of Education student or teacher. I asked a fellow Elementary Education student from a different teaching block. She answered the question "What would you dream classroom look like?"
Application: I believe that this would be a great activity for any elementary age student to do. It can be made easier or harder for different grade levels. Students could be asked to interview teachers or administrators around the school. They could come up with their own questions or be given a specific one. The students could also use their iPad or tablets to take a picture that represents the interview.
Materials: iPad, tablet
